The 14th International Conference on Intelligent Data Engineering and Automated Learning (IDEAL'2013)

The 14th International Conference on Intelligent Data Engineering and Automated Learning (IDEAL'2013)

Hosted and organized by The USTC-Birmingham Joint Research Institute in Intelligent Computation and Its Applications (UBRI)

We want to thank all the participants and authors to have contributed to IDEAL'13. We hope that all of you enjoyed this conference as much as we did. It was a really nice conference with interesting talks, top-level keynotes and tutorials and a very nice panel discussion.

The 14th International Conference on Intelligent Data Engineering and Automated Learning (IDEAL'2013) was the fourteenth in this high-level international conference series. It took place in Hefei, Anhui, China in 2013. Photos of the conference are now available here.

The next IDEAL Conference (IDEAL 2014) will be held in Salamanca, a beautiful city in western Spain, in 2014 (http://ideal14.usal.es)

Keynote Speakers

Prof. Igor Aleksander, Imperial College London, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, Receiver of Lifetime Achievement Medal for Informatics by the Institution of Electrical Engineers. He is a leading expert in research on machine consciousness and artificial neural networks.

Prof. Wen Gao, Peking University, Fellow of IEEE, Fellow of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Chairman of the Audio Video coding Standard (AVS) working group of China, Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Computer, Associate Editor of IEEE T-CSVT and IEEE T-MM. He is a leading expert in multimedia, image and video compression, face recognition, sign language recognition and synthesis, image retrieval, and multimodal interfaces.

History

Like the papers in the previous IDEAL conferences, the papers presented at The 14th International Conference on Intelligent Data Engineering and Automated Learning (IDEAL'2013) will be published in Springer's popular and highly-recognized series Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS). They will be

  • indexed by DBLP and
  • EI.

Selected papers will be invited for special issues in several leading international journals in the field, including the International Journals of Neural Systems (IJNS) and Connection Science.
